At only 34 years old, Ed Blankenship, a 2004 graduate with a computer science degree, has provided for MSU in his will. This isn’t the first time that Ed has committed himself to making life better for MSU students who come after him. As the MSU Student Body Government Vice President in 2003-2004, he was a part of the team of students and administrators who envisioned a student wellness center and worked to get students to pass a student fee to pay for the center that was years away from opening.

The Bruce and Graciela Redwine Student Wellness Center opened in January 2010. Ed, who now lives in Seattle, has never been inside it but is proud to know that the beautiful building and the great equipment is the result of the work of him and his peers.

Because Ed has no idea what the future holds for him, he chose to leave a percentage of his estate to the university. Today, Ed is the Head of Product at Algorithmia, Inc. and was previously a product manager at Microsoft. He is an author, a speaker, and a competitive swimmer. His MSU passions are the computer science program and the marching band.
