Endowed Scholarships Change Lives for Generations

In 1982 Pat Perryman earned an associate degree in nursing at MSU while living in Olney, Texas, and working as a paramedic. In 2017, after earning advanced degrees, Pat created the Dr. Patricia A. Perryman Nursing Scholarship Endowment at MSU and documented her plans to increase the scholarship through a gift in her will. For years, Pat has worked with at-risk students earning entry-level nursing degrees. It is the entry-level nursing programs, she said, that most often lift people out of poverty and change lives for generations to come.
